Configuring Azure Cost Management Exports

DATACOM Portal uses Azure Cost Management Exports to import detailed billing and usage data for analysis and optimisation.

Exports generate daily CSV files and save them to a Storage Account that you control.
DATACOM Portal reads these files to update your Cost Explorer, Trends, and Recommendations dashboards (including others).

Before You Begin

Before configuring exports, ensure:

  1. You know your Azure account type (EA, MCA, PAYG, or CSP) — this determines which setup guide to follow. How to check →
  2. You've created a dedicated Storage Account for cost exports.
  3. You've completed the Application Registration setup, including granting storage account access.

💡 For CSP customers, DATACOM Portal can automatically create and manage exports once granted the proper role permissions.
See Automated CSP Export Setup for details.
